Carly hosts her own home-grown web show, iCarly. She lives with her twenty-something brother/guardian Spencer and produces her Web casts from a makeshift third-floor loft studio. Grappling with adolescence, she never aimed to gain fame as a rising star/underground celebrity to kids. As events unfold in the pilot, it all happens by accident when a teacher puts her in charge of the school talent show. She and her sassy best bud Sam turn the audition process into a show, which Carly's tech savvy smitten friend Freddy tapes -- including their hilarious banter and great chemistry -- and posts on the Web without telling the girls. The on-line audience clamors for more, and a pop phenomenon blooms, with Carly and sidekick Sam's regular Web casts ultimately featuring everything from comedy sketches and talent contests to interviews, recipes, and problem-solving

Season 1, Episode 1: iPilot
Carly Shay is a 13-year-old girl who lives with her 26-year-old brother in an artist's loft in Seattle. Her life is normal, until her and her friends Sam and Freddie start a web show called iCarly. It starts out when their teacher asks them to record auditions for the school talent show, but wouldn't let any of the kids they suggested be in the show. This led to them deciding to create a web show just for kids with strange talents.

Season 1, Episode 2: iWant More Viewers
Carly and Sam compete with Freddie and Spencer to see which team can increase the number of hits on Carly's website, using the most elaborate techniques available to each team. The losers have to touch the wart of the Bushwell Apartment doorman, Lewbert - a man that Carly & Sam are convinced is the meanest man alive. Judging from their hidden camera in the lobby of Carly's apartment building, it's easy to understand why they hate him.

Jake Krandle, one of the cutest boys at Ridgeway Middle School breaks up with his girlfriend, and all the girls at school want a piece of him. But during a rehearsal, Jake is found to be a horrible singer, and Carly has to struggle to convince an already jealous Freddie to digitally enhance his voice.

Season 1, Episode 6: iNevel
A tip from a potential fan prompts Carly to seek a review of her website from another site called "Nevelocity.com." The webmaster, turns out to be an 11-year-old super-genius boy named Nevel Papperman, who seeks not only a review of her site, but the same thing from Carly that Freddie has been trying to get since he met her. When she spurns his advances, he trashes the show. The only thing that can save it, is for Carly, Freddie, and Sam to persuade him to write an honest review.

Season 1, Episode 7: iScream on Halloween
Carly, Sam, and Freddie shoot their Halloween web cast from an apartment that is rumored to be haunted. When creepy things start happening, the friends worry that the ghost rumors just might be true. Meanwhile, Spencer forgets to buy Halloween candy, and he ends up giving children odd and random objects, which leads them to the point of rolling him down the ocean with him inside a giant pumpkin that he carved. During the show, Sam shows viewers how to pull Halloween pranks using masks.

Season 1, Episode 8: iSpy a Mean Teacher
Because Ms. Briggs is mean to everyone, Carly and Freddie spy on Ms. Briggs to see what mean teachers do after school for a segment on iCarly. They find out she is addicted to Randy Jackson and they eventually get caught when Sam tries to get them out. She threatens to call the police and expel them unless she performs on her webshow. She ends up performing on the bagpipes and their view count drops instantly. But when they use the green screen to get hilarious backgrounds, people come back and iCarly has more viewers than ever. Meanwhile, Spencer has a girlfriend who can juggle.

Season 1, Episode 9: iWill Date Freddy
While doing a "Blab Cam" bit on iCarly, Freddie gets a date with a girl named Valerie. They have a date in Carly's apartment, and Spencer was their waiter. They start to like each other, but soon she wants to do her own webcast on the same day as iCarly. Freddie begins working only with Valerie and production of iCarly suffers. Things get worse when Valerie invites Sam to come to her webcast. In the end, Valerie tells Freddie the truth and he dumps her. Freddie is then permanently back on iCarly.

Season 1, Episode 10: iWant a World Record
Carly, Sam, and Freddie want to break a world record for the longest webcast, which has to be longer than 24 hours and 8 minutes. Meanwhile, Spencer builds a sculpture out of all the trash stored in crates. Unfortunately, when Spencer powers on his sculpture, the power goes out, and they don't get to break a world record. But Spencer does, because of his kinetic sculpture that has the most moving parts in the world. Feeling bad, he asks Carly, Sam and Freddie to attach the last part onto his sculpture, including them in the record so they can get their picture in the book, and Sam gets to meet one of her favorite record holders, the world's fattest priest.

Season 1, Episode 11: iRue the Day
When Carly, Sam, and Freddie expect the Plain White T's to appear on their show, their website is hacked by Nevel Papperman, who tries to ruin their website in revenge for Carly refusing to kiss him in the episode iNevel. The iCarly trio attempt to hack Nevel's website, for hacking their website but fails. Carly then calls in the military to stop Nevel, and then he is forced to apologize to Carly. The Plain White T's then appear on the show, and performs their song, "It's Our Time Now"

Season 1, Episode 12 iPromise Not to Tell
After Carly gets a B+ on her history paper (because her history teacher Mr. Devlin doesn't like 3-hole punched paper, a minor technicality), Carly gets upset because she wanted to get straight A's, and this grade prevents her from doing so. After overhearing Principal Franklin's username and password to the school's network, Sam changes Carly's grade to give Carly the straight A's she deserves. After finding out about this, however, Carly feels guilty when Sam, orders Carly not to tell anybody about the hacking. Sam chanages Freddie's grade so she doesn't have to pay him back. Carly and Freddie try to change it back, but get stopped by the Computer Security Agency for hacking.
